JOB!

Last night Lee and I went to his church for a service honoring his Granddad who has been in the choir for over 55 years! Bro. Tim preached on discouragement.. so it was meant for me to hear. As you know I've been looking for ANY job now for a month straight. After 3 interviews and no calls back, I gave up. Last night I turned my discouragement over to God... Guess who called this morning? I got a job in huntsville at Rahmati Law Firm! I interviewed with them 2 weeks ago and heard nothing, so I assumed that the job was given to someone else. The office told me that they had a "hard time" choosing from the interviewers. I think it was more "God's timing" that slowed them down!!

No more lease!

So we got a call today and our apt subleased! It starts November 1st so we no longer have to worry about our rent there!! What a great relief! Now if we could just find jobs soon..

our LONG move home!

All week last week we packed, cleaned, and hung out with friends to say our goodbyes. Saturday morning Lee's parents came up to help us carry our stuff back on a u-haul. We got everything in our cars and the u-haul and started on our caravan back to Alabama. We take I-24 to Nashville then get on I-65 the rest of the way home. While on I-24 we came to a standstill around mile-marker 24. Not knowing what was going on or where we were we thought we would just wait it out... little did we know that would mean 5 hours on the interstate moving about 100 feet every half hour to exit 31! Thankfully our cars were together so we could talk to each other to pass time, but still!! We finally got through to Nashville and stopped to eat at Shoney's since they were the only place open at 11 at night then made it home around 1 am! We have slowly got all our stuff un-packed between the parents houses and now it's time to continue the job hunt!!

Update

We are moving out on Saturday.. so that means boxes, more boxes, and CLEANING!! See you all this weekend!!

Time to Move!

After our weekend in Athens, we now have to get ready to move!! My Dad got us a bunch of boxes so I guess that means I can't procrastinate. We are going to spend this week packing and job hunting then move back Saturday. See you all very soon!

Moving back home..

Yeah you read that right.. Lee decided that he did not want a career in Law anymore so we are coming back home. That means finding new jobs, living arrangements, and closing everything here in Carbondale. In the long run it will be well worth it, but for now I think we are in for a busy few weeks/months! If you know of any jobs avaliable please let us know! We are still coming home this weekend but we will be coming back up here to pack and sort things out. I'll update once we know more!

Weekend fun

Lee and I made it to the weekend after a long busy week. Friday we kept the girls, then hung out with our friends. I went with the girls from work to hear an 80s band and Lee hung out with his friends until we met up later. Saturday we went to the Law School Tailgate again. It was a lot of fun! Of course we watched the bama game that night!! What a game! I think Lee was jealous of his cousin John David being there!! Hope all the family is doing good!! We are coming home this next weekend, although Lee is spending the weekend in Tuscaloosa. Hope to see you all and have a great week!

This afternoon Lee and I kept my bosses twins.. they loved fishing! Here's some pictures of us 'trying' to keep up with them!

Busy Afternoon!

Today I kept my supervisor's baby, Zachary. He is 6 months old and a very sweet baby. He loves to smile and really took a liking to Lee. Althought it was tons of fun... I think Lee and I both agree, no babies anytime soon!

Old lady feet..

I've been having some serious pain in my feet from being on them all day. Yes I'm only 22! My parents make fun of my 'old lady feet' so I went and bought some crocs today! Lee's aunts swear by them so hopefully they will do the trick! Lee and I are back into another week of school/work! Since when did the weeks just fly by? Its almost crazy to think it's close to being 2 months since we got hitched and moved here!

Apple Festival

We made it to the Apple Festival this afternoon. After eating hotdogs and cheese steaks we walked around just taking it all in. Today was the big parade so the rides and such were not being used much. One funny thing was they were throwing out candy and APPLES. Lee dodged one that was aimed at his head! We ran into my boss and co-worker whose daughter was in the parade, so it was nice to see someone we knew. I'm hoping I can talk Lee into going back at night to see the lights and fair atmosphere. I'm not really sure how the festival got started but its a huge deal here. We saw no telling how many schools marching in the parade! Over-all it was realy neat and I'm sure we'll go back again next year! One big difference about this area is all the fesitvals and fairs that seem to be going on every weekend. I guess that always gives us something to look forward to!

Busy Busy!

This week has been a busy one so far.. Lee has been busy in the books and I've worked a few extra hours for someone at work who is in the hospital. We are both looking forward to Friday! There is a fair called the "Apple Festival" going on this weekend so we are gonna try to go to that sometime on Saturday. Something about fair food just sounds good- Candy apples and funnel cakes!! I'll try to take some pictures and post them afterwards! Hope everyone back home is doing good and we'll see you soon!

What is a Saluki?

SIU's mascot is a SALUKI. If you were like us- we were wondering what that was? Its a very expensive, pretty dog! Lee and I had alot of fun this weekend! We meet some new friends, tailgated, and ate lots of food! SIU actually has a pretty good tailgating atmostphere. Once we go to a game I'll fill you in on their football.. The Law School had a very nice tailgate set up for the students so we hung out and ate, drank, and enjoyed the weather that was in the 70's! Of course all the free stuff only added to the fun (notice Lee's oh-so cool glasses)! This weekend really made me realize that no we arn't in SEC country, but its really not that bad! Lee and I seem to fit in pretty good here in Carbondale and we really like it!

Busy Weekend!

This past weekend was very busy for Lee and I! We left Athens around 1:30 Monday, so we made it back to Carbondale in time for Lee to do some school work. We had a great time at home getting to see our family! We hope everyone was as glad to see us as we were to see them!! Saturday I got some help from my Mom and sister Jessalee to start on our curtains and dustruffle for our house. Thanks to them both I have a picture of the dustruffle on our bed! We have started on the curtains and as soon as they get done I'll show them off too.


Also Lee's mom got us a flag for our front yard. It really makes our boring outside look better! I have high hopes for the flower beds this coming spring! It was so good to see everyone this past weekend and hopefully we will be back soon!

We're coming home this weekend!

Just so everyone knows.. we are coming home this weekend!! We decided since its a long weekend its the best time for us to come home! I really need a break since I've started my training at work. Yes its only been a week--its going good, I'm just pretty warn out! Its the type of job that I only sit for lunch so my feet are having to adjust! Also since I'm training I'm working more hours than usual. Atleast that means overtime.. Can't wait to see everyone this weekend!

Real World

So I've decided that the 'real world' is so over rated! Don't get me wrong, I love being married and having a full time job... But its so much easier sleeping in, going to class, and enjoying the rest of the day in front of the TV or reading a good book. Working 40 hours means money.. but also tired feet! HaHa Oh well I guess everyone has to grow up! When do I get to retire?

To be fair..

So I got a lot of feedback on the picture of Lee's first day of school. I guess to be fair I gotta post my picture too. The first day was good! I did a lot of reading, signing, testing, watching, and listening! Monday is when I get to 'start' hands on so I'm looking forward to that! All next week I also have to learn how to open so that means I have to be there at 7:30! So much for sleeping late!

The JOB is finally here...

This morning I went to an interview for a blood plasma center looking for a receptionist. I did not know much going into the interview other than what was on the website about the company. I interviewed, learned about the position, and got to watch how the process works. The job consist of signing in the customer, making sure their forms are accurate, taking a blood sample and testing it for proper levels, and taking the customer to the "blood" room. 30 mins after coming home I got a phone call offering me the job as well as a promotion after training to be the "New Blood Donor" receptionist. This is a step up on the receptionist scale as well as M-F 9-6. This was very exciting because this is the job I was hoping to move into once I could show them what I was capable of. As the "new blood donor" receptionist I am in charge of working with first time customers. This includes paperwork, assuring their nerves, sending thank you cards, keeping contact for donating again, and yes... a pee test... ha ha I never saw myself as much of a medical assistance! Although I was supposed to interview for another company tomorrow I have decided to go ahead and accept this job and I start Friday! I guess I gotta go buy some scrubs now! Hopefully more good news to come! Miss everyone! Love you!

1 Month!

I can't believe its been one month since Lee and I got married. Everything went by so fast that day and the weeks following it almost seems like its been longer. I can't believe we've been living in Carbondale for almost 3 weeks-it has seemed like a lot longer! We wanna thank everyone again for making our wedding so special! Update

It's been awhile since we've posted so I just wanted to update everyone on what we've been up to. Lets see... Lee started his first full day of school today, so far so good. He seemed to enjoy it and I even got to help him out a little by typing some stuff for him. Yes- I was that bored that I begged him to let me type some briefs for him. As far as the job hunt goes.. I have an interview tomorrow at American Eagle. Not the type of job I had set in my head going into this process but after 3 weeks of hearing nothing, I decided to give it a try! A job is a job and that works for me!! Lee and I are looking forward to the next few weeks! Lee's parents are coming up this weekend and Chris and Debbie Newman are stoping by on Monday afternoon, so it will be good to see some of our loved ones again! Hope everyone is doing great and as of right now we are coming home the weekend after labor day- Sept. 6th! Love you all!

Our Lawyer!

Lee started his first day of Law School today. They have orientation the rest of the week and classes start Monday. He was nervous this morning, but excited that he is finally starting something he has dreamed about since he was young. Not much has changed in my job search. I applied for some more jobs today so hopefully something will work out soon. I do have a part time babysitting job that I'm starting this afternoon!

Last night Lee finally got a big one. Although it wasnt the kind of fish he was going for, we have seen big catfish in the pond but never caught one. This guy made such a splash our neighbor came out to see what it was...

So some people have problems with mice...roaches...or even ants. We have a LIZARD in our kitchen. This morning while looking out the back door I stepped on something, yes a lizard. It ran under the fridge where it is now. Lee and I have tried everything we know to get it out without killing it. Its kinda funny so I took some pictures. ENJOY and hopefully it won't be inside much longer!

Moved In!!

We have finally got most everything moved in. Yesterday we got internet and cable so we've really enjoyed being "back in the world" Some people have asked for pictures of our new place so I've put some here to share! You'll see how all your wedding gifts have made our home complete! Tonight we are gonna get out and go to a local baseball game then visit a church tommorow morning. I guess we are falling into the 'old' married couple already :)
